Located in the heart of Wilmington, Delaware is the beautiful Hotel Du Pont. The venue boasts two ballrooms perfect for weddings, but I have to say I’ve long been partial to the Gold Ballroom. Thanks to its ornate ceilings and plenty of literal gleaming gold details, the space has made me stop in my tracks online and I can’t help but feel it causes the same reaction for couples and their guests in person. When Stephanie and Lamar announced they were planning their wedding day at Hotel Du Pont, I was thrilled! Let’s get into more of the details behind their suite!
Stephanie and Lamar both noted they were planning a “very elegant affair” at Hotel Du Pont and getting married in the Gold Ballroom, so we knew their wedding invitation suite needed to portray the style guests could expect to experience on their wedding day. We turned to the space itself for inspiration, and we also leaned on S+L’s blush and gold palette to further help us to portray their vision. Once we explored all of the options, we realized a triple layer blush pocketfold wedding invitation suite was a must! The design featured plenty of gold accents – their names were printed in gold foil – and we kept the rest of the suite timeless by printing all of the details in block and script fonts in black ink. Everything was printed onto ivory metallic paper, and I think the result is perfect!
Between their love, which was sparked when they met at Cabrini University, to their sweet family (they share a young daughter!), I can only imagine guests could not wait to celebrate Stephanie and Lamar in Delaware at their formal fete. I hope you love taking a peek at their suite through the photos Haley Richter Photography captured below.
