On a Thursday in August, Sheree and David said, “We do” at the Morris Arboretum just a few miles outside of the hustle and bustle of Center City Philadelphia. Inspired by the many gardens at the arboretum and the stars we hoped would shine brightly on their wedding day, Sheree, David, and I set out to design an invitation suite that evoked visions of the stars combined with plenty of flowers.
When S+D’s wedding invitations arrived in the mail, guests saw their names and addresses printed in white ink atop navy envelopes. Inside each envelope, a bright pink, navy, and green floral envelope liner and coordinating bellyband welcomed a wealth of color into the suite. A monogram square with the couple’s names and wedding date – August 9, 2018 – with gold foil stars completed the suite’s initial greeting.
The main invitation piece was printed using gold foil stamping onto thick navy matte card stock. Outside of the bright florals, one of my favorite details of the suite were the stars featured on the top of the piece. They’re the same stars as the monogram square, and the stars on both pieces acted as a nod to “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. Rather than continuing to use gold foil, Sheree, David, and I decided digital printing was best for the inserts, which featured navy ink on cream colored card stock.
While we were styling and photographing Sheree and David’s suite, Haley, Carly, and I could not get enough of the bright color palette! To us, and the couple I’m sure, the suite represents summer and joy perfectly. I’m sure you will see how much we all love this suite as you take a peek at the photos below.
