Once you take a peek at Renee and Leon’s warm, beautiful burgundy and gold palette, you will be able to instantly see why I enjoyed designing their semi-custom invitation suite so much! But, I also adore R+L’s ceremony and reception locations. Let’s take a closer look!
Renee and Leon celebrated the start of the union during their ceremony at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church on November 5, 2016. Post ceremony, they retreated with their family and closest friends to one of my favorite Philadelphia area venues of all time, Cairnwood Estate. R+L’s wedding was not short on beautiful locations!
While designing their suite, their reception location was one of our main pieces of inspiration and so was the fall season. Plus, Renee was quick to add how much she adores lace and gold foil. To make sure Renee’s beloved lace stood out beautifully, I opted to press the pattern into the invite, which happens through a technique known as debossing or blind letterpress. Once the lace pattern was set, we all turned our attention to gold foil. Of course, this detail needed to be incorporated into the invitation, and I opted for digital printing in burgundy for the inserts. To elegantly hold the suite together, a piece of ivory lace was paired with a burgundy bow to complete the look! It’s safe to say Renee, Leon, and I loved it!
