If you are inspired by destination weddings and incredible views, today’s wedding will definitely be a favorite! Samantha and Ryan met while attending Penn State University, and they’re both passionate about watching sports and playing backyard games. But what excites them the most is experiencing new things together, and this time they invited their friends and family to be a part of one of their best adventures yet — celebrating their wedding day at Garden of the Gods Resort in Colorado Springs.
Similar to other weddings, Samantha and Ryan each spent their wedding mornings getting ready with their closest friends and family members. What was different, however, is the views they could enjoy just outside of their windows. Garden of the Gods Resort offers incredible glimpses of Pike’s Peak and the Rocky Mountains, among others!
After everyone had arrived, it was time for Samantha and Ryan to exchange their vows during their outdoor wedding ceremony. With the mountains glowing beyond, Samantha walked down the aisle with her dad toward Ryan who was waiting in front of their modern gold and floral backdrop. Guests looked on from their seats just in front of the resort’s pool, and the setting looked like it was perfect for S+R’s early June celebration.
Once they were officially married, Samantha and Ryan recessed back up the aisle and joined their photographer, Kara Pearson Photography, to capture photos together. Their gold and floral backdrop was one of their locations, which I love. But I have to say I think the photos of the Penn State duo in front of the incredible Colorado mountains are even more fun! I also have to point out Ryan’s joy — he looks so happy in every photo (of course, Samantha does too!).
Once cocktail hour was complete, everyone gathered inside the ballroom at Garden of the Gods Resort for the reception. Again, the mountains were still in full view, thanks to the large windows featured throughout the space. By this time, everything had taken on a golden hour glow! Tables were topped with ivory blooms and greenery by Fairytale Floral Co., which offered such a beautiful setting for dinner and speeches. So What Brothers was ready to welcome and keep everyone on the dance floor all night long — and they did!
I’m honored to have designed Samantha and Ryan’s modern wedding invitation, cubed seating chart (I also got to team up with Myrtle & Lloyd Calligraphy for this piece!), place cards, menus, acrylic signage, and favor tags for their mugs. I loved every moment I spent working on S+R’s wedding, and I hoped you enjoyed seeing so much more!
