Mallery and James tied the knot on August 29, 2015. They welcomed guests to their ceremony at Old St. Mary’s church in downtown Philadelphia just before joining their guests for a reception overlooking the Delaware River at the Hilton Philadelphia Penn’s Landing.
Guests saw their first peek of the wedding’s design when they received M+J’s invitation suite in the mail. I shared each and every piece from their lilac and cream suite just a few weeks ago, and it’s still remains as one of my favorites. The flowers created such a lovely backdrop, and I loved the gold glitter bellyband.
While designing the stationery for the ceremony and reception, we knew we wanted to continue to use Mallery’s soft lilac, cream, and gold palette. Plus, flowers were also a given!
The ceremony programs featured lilac blooms on the bottom, script font for the couple’s names, and even more details in a classic block font.
I was also thrilled to design Mallery and James’s seating chart! I loved reintroducing the complete floral backdrop from the invitations into the chart’s design. I chose to use the same script font for the pair’s names, and I also wanted to make each table standout just a bit more. Rather than organizing the chart alphabetically by last name (a popular choice!), we chose to design the chart according to table numbers. I think it turned out wonderfully.
I’m still so excited for Mallery and James, and I’m so grateful to have played such a fun role in their wedding day’s design! Thank you so much to John Barone Photography for capturing such fabulous images.
