During the winter, I dream of beautiful spring weather. I love days when the sky looks almost too blue, the temperature is so perfect you can’t imagine being inside, and your only plans are to spend the day with your favorite people. Although no one can control the rain, a perfect spring day is what I hope so many of my couples will enjoy. And, on June 2, 2017, all of the spring stars aligned for Kirstin and Kevin.
I had the great honor of designing K+K’s wedding invitation suite earlier last year. Kirstin noted she wanted a classic wedding invitation to offer guests their first impression of the couple’s upcoming wedding day, so we turned to a palette of blush and gold. The result was a triple layer design that was held together by a gold bellyband and a gold foil stamped monogram. It was a lovely way to offer a sneak peek into what guests would experience during the pair’s ceremony and reception!
On their wedding day, Kirstin and Kevin spent the morning getting ready with their bridesmaids and groomsmen. I am such a believer that this time should be scheduled in order for it to be savored. Make sure to eat breakfast and lunch (catering is a wonderful luxury!), and sip on mimosas (and water!) while you get your hair and makeup done. Starting your day on a calm note will only keep the vibe positive for the remainder of your day.
During their ceremony at Church of the Holy Family in Sewell, New Jersey, guests were presented with classic programs before the couple exchanged their vows. Kirstin looked gorgeous in her gown, and I love her classic and timeless bun paired with her hairpiece. Also, Kevin could not look more smitten. There’s something about wedding ceremonies, friends, especially those held in houses of worship that have immense meaning to the couple.
Once they were officially Mr. and Mrs., Kirstin and Kevin joined their wedding party for portraits. They started at the church before Kristin and Kevin captured portraits together in the heart of the city. A session in front of City Hall is one of the most classic Philadelphia wedding moments!
Kirstin and Kevin chose Cescaphe Event Group’s Vie for their reception, and the distinct luxurious feel mixed with nods to Italian architecture allowed this venue to mesh wonderfully with the couple’s classic style. The candle and hydrangea centerpieces were a lovely choice for the space, and the couple’s projected monogram also stands out to me. From the first dance to the parent dances and every dance that followed, it’s completely clear K+K’s DJ kept guests on the dance floor. There’s simply no better way to spend your wedding day than with your guests on the dance floor after a memorable ceremony and gorgeous spring weather.
Congratulations, Kirstin and Kevin! I hope your first anniversary was wonderful. xo
