It’s Wedding Wednesday, and there’s no better way to kick off the day than with a real wedding! As a stationery designer, so much of my work with the couple happens before their wedding day. We talk about their venue, I know their color palette, and I can envision the details that will be purposefully placed throughout the space (and the day!). But, there’s something so special about actually seeing the photos from a wedding! Today is completely devoted to Erica and Anthony.
I worked with Erica and Anthony to design their wedding invitation. Their three tiered suite included layers on the front as well as a pocketfold on the back – the perfect spot for all of the detail cards. Flourishes, purple and glitter thermography – a type of raised printing – highlighted the suite, and it was a lovely introduction to their summer Ashford Estate soiree.
One of the best things about the Ashford Estate is the couple can opt to (separately!) get ready on site with their respective bridesmaids and groomsmen. This allows for such a relaxed start to the day, and the spaces to photograph getting ready moments are some of the most beautiful.
E+A recited their vows in front of their guests during the ceremony inside Ashford Estate’s barn. And, the ceremony fans I designed served as fantastic twist on a traditional program! If you haven’t been inside before, I’ll tell you this: it’s something truly special; it’s one of the prettiest barns in the area.
Post ceremony, they mingled with their guests, found their seats by a custom seating chart I design, and enjoyed a meal together at tables complete with custom table numbers. I also created signature drink signage, and I helped to remind guests to hashtag each and every one of their photos thanks to a custom hashtag sign during Erica and Anthony’s reception.
One of my favorite moments at any wedding is when the dance floor is completely filled. The photos of the couple and their parents during their first dances are fabulous. The emotion in each photo is definitely something to be treasured, and these photos speak so well to who this pair is as a couple: they’re lovely.
Erica and Anthony, I could not be more excited for you as your embark on this new chapter together! I could not be more grateful to have been the one you chose to create your wedding day stationery. xoxo
