I have a list of places I would love to visit, and one of them is close to home! Skytop Lodge is a stunning resort in the Pocono Mountains, and it’s located a relatively quick two-hour drive away from Bucks County. The Inn is where I would opt to stay, and it has beautiful historical elements, including the stone façade. It looks like an ideal setting for a wedding during any season, and Caroline and Matt saw all of the potential.
People most often think to visit the Poconos during the winter because of ski season, but it’s fabulous all year long. C+M knew that too, so they opted to celebrate their wedding day in the middle of spring toward the end of April. They enjoyed in-bloom flowers and trees and a wonderfully sunny day!
Because their rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception were all hosted at Skytop Lodge, Caroline and Matt decided to each get ready on site. Caroline spent the morning with her bridesmaids and made sure to snap a few photos with them once she was in her wedding dress just before she stepped outside to see Matt for the first time.
During their first look, Caroline and Matt’s vintage getaway car, which they would take post-ceremony, served as a fun accent to their emotional moment. I always love when the groom sheds a few tears!
Caroline walked down the aisle toward Matt during their ceremony, where I also had the honor of designing their unplugged wedding sign and their programs, which featured gold foil and navy digital printing (a fun nod to their classic wedding invitation suite!). After their ceremony, their getaway car served its official purpose as Caroline and Matt drove away to capture portraits with their photographer, Cheyanna, of Cheyenna De Nicola Photography. Their wedding party got in on the fun too!
Their outdoor reception in a draped ivory tent on Skytop Lodge’s property was everything you would imagine a glamorous wedding at this mountain setting would be. I loved the flowers that hung from the ceiling! And, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention their tall ivory centerpieces and the cascade of blooms that served as an accent on their wedding cake.
I also have to talk about their additional wedding day stationery! Prior to their wedding day, guests were welcomed to Skytop Lodge with welcome bags, and included in each was a welcome insert listing everything they needed to know about the weekend. Plus, C+M also hosted a rehearsal dinner on property, and I designed the menus and placecards.
For their wedding day, I created custom signs that were on display throughout the cocktail hour and reception, including a heel protector sign, bathroom sign, and cigar bar sign. I also designed their signature drink signs. They live in New Hope, so I love that one signature drink was a nod to their hometown. Then, they also honored their dog, Remington, with another drink and sign! Lastly, place cards and menus awaited guests at their seats that incorporated our gold foil and navy palette.
Caroline and Matt, I loved creating so many classic pieces for your destination wedding weekend at Skytop Lodge! Now, I can’t wait to visit the resort. xo
