It’s Wedding Wednesday, and we’re heading to Finley Catering’s Ballroom at the Ben! I’m so thrilled to share Alex and David’s wedding with you because I had the absolute honor of designing their save the dates and wedding invitations. Their suite was one of my favorites because we combined gold glitter, shades of pink, and beautiful script together with gold foil stamping and white cotton card stock. The end result of the design was a clutch style invitation that celebrated A+D’s (then!) upcoming nuptials perfectly with nods to their relationship and Philadelphia wedding location.
On May 6, 2017, Alex and David kick started their day at Hotel Monaco. I’ve mentioned this hotel so many times before, but their bridal suite is beautiful. The lighting is simply stunning. The large windows allow morning light to pour through in any season, which means brides glow during their portrait sessions! I love it, and it’s so clear it was a wonderful getting ready location for Alex and her bridesmaids too.
Once they were ready, Alex met David at Old St. Joseph’s church for her walk down the aisle. It’s one of the most iconic churches in Philadelphia, and I cannot think of a better place to say, “We do,” in the city than a church like Old St. Joseph’s. I love Alex’s joyful expression, and I cannot help but take special note of her beautiful pink wedding bouquet. Plus, this pair looks so excited to be married! The ceremony is what a wedding day is all about, and I feel so fortunate to have designed their wedding programs.
Of course a wedding day isn’t complete without a celebration, so Alex and David invited guests to share in their joy at the Ballroom at the Ben. If ever there was a Philadelphia wedding venue that spoke volumes about the city, I think it’s this one. European charm, elegant chandeliers, balconies, and beautiful architecture abound in the space making it stunning on its own. But, it’s safe to say the Ballroom at the Ben looked even more lovely with Alex’s pink florals! The centerpieces and the cake featured pink blooms, and I also love A+D’s floral backdrop that sat behind their sweetheart table. Plus, their gold sequin linens – this touch reminds me of their wedding invitations and escort cards, which I also designed – look fabulous in photos!
From their portraits to their packed dance floor – I love the sweet photos from their first dance, as well as their father-daughter and mother-son dances – it’s so clear A+D kept family and fun close at heart while they filled their day with so many beautiful details.
Kyle Michelle Weddings planned this fete beautifully, and Carley K. Photography captured it as only she can. Thank you both for your talents! xo
