I may be biased because I live outside of Philadelphia in Bucks County, but I do have to admit the city (and surrounding areas!) are home to some of the most fabulous wedding venues. There’s truly something for every couple, no matter if they’re looking for an art deco style space or one with more of a garden feel. When Petchie and Greg were deciding where they would host their June wedding day, the Down Town Club was a top choice!
As Petchie notes and their invitation showcases, she is drawn to timeless style. Her bridesmaids were going to wear black, and Petchie and Greg’s wedding palette was filled with additional shades of black, gold, and a few touches of soft pink. I will always be drawn to classic style, especially for city weddings!
When Petchie, Greg, and I were exploring options for their wedding invitation suite, the idea of creating a semi-custom design was exciting to them. They loved that they could pull elements from past suites and add a few of their own touches in order to create a revised design unique to their celebration. So, Megan and Mike’s invitation provided a wonderful base for us to begin and then add new flair!
Just like Megan and Mike’s invitation, we continued to use the layered look in Petchie and Greg’s invitation. A layer of black card stock served as the base layer inside of P+G’s pocketfold wedding invitation. Then we added a layer of ivory card stock with a gold foil border to complete the design. The main invitation piece featured a script font with Petchie and Greg’s names appearing in gold foil as well as additional details printed in black block font. For their inserts, we turned to a mixture of gold foil text printed on black card stock and black text printed on ivory card stock. Everything was tucked inside of the pocketfold and tied with a black ribbon. Lastly, Petchie and Greg’s two letter monogram was placed on top in the form of a gold wax seal!
For a couple who met on their first day at St. Joseph’s University, a classic and timeless invitation that invited their guests first to their ceremony at St. Anastasia Church and then to their reception in the city where they met was perfect. And, I think you will agree after you see the photos Haley Richter Photography captured of their suite.
