Winter weddings have always been close to my heart. I’m a winter bride myself, and it warms my heart to see other couples tying the knot during the coldest months of the year. To me, there’s nothing more romantic than curling up with your honey by the fire. Plus, winter weddings give me an excuse to cover Philadelphia custom wedding invitations in glitter!
I created this sparkly wedding invitation suite for Natali and Bob. They were married on the most romantic day of the year: Valentine’s Day! With snow on the ground and a hint of chill in the air, I can’t imagine a more idyllic wedding scene.
The wedding took place at the Lake House Inn in Perkasie, PA. I have to say, as a Bucks County resident myself, the Inn is a gorgeous wedding venue! It is located in Nockamixon State Park and overlooks Lake Nockamixon. It was renovated relatively recently, but still maintains the grandeur of its 200 year history in its award-winning architecture and interior design. It’s the perfect spot for a destination-style wedding that’s still close to home!
Natali and Bob’s invitation featured a tree with glittery snow on top, which perfectly mirrored the wintry, woodsy surroundings at their chosen venue. They picked the perfect time of year to use snowy wedding invitations that would match the weather outside!
I used the thermography technique for this invitation. It’s an alternative to engraving, wherein ink and resin powder are fused onto the paper using heat. I attached the invitation to a silver glitter backing and. I tucked the directions, accommodations, and response cards inside a glittery blue pocketfold. For a final touch of sparkle, I wrapped the whole thing up in a silver glitter bellyband.
Congratulations to you both, Natali and Bob! I hope your love keeps both of you cozy and warm even as winter’s chill is beginning to leave us.
