Melissa and Brad’s story began during their freshman year Temple University. And, when you meet and fall in love at an iconic school in the heart of the city, a celebration that also occurs in Philadelphia is a must! When M+B mentioned they were planning to invite their friends and family members to join them at the iconic Crystal Tea Room by Finley Catering, I couldn’t wait to design their wedding invitation suite.
Melissa and Brad both love traveling, sports, and trying new-to-them restaurants and bars together, and they also noted they’re most inspired by elegant details and clean lines. I took everything they mentioned into consideration while creating their multi-piece wedding stationery suite, and we decided a classic suite with timeless details would work best.
When guests first received M+B’s wedding invitation, they were greeted by the couple’s two-letter monogram printed in script and wedding date printed in block font. Their colors were ivory, black, and gold, and the bellyband featured all three! Then as guests opened the invitation further, they saw the gold foil main invitation piece. We mounted this piece on gold card stock, layered it on top of black card stock, and printed all of the details digitally in black ink. Then all of the details cards were printed digitally in black ink on cream colored matte card stock.
I think Melissa and Brad’s wedding invitation set the tone for their elegant August Crystal Tea Room wedding beautifully, and every piece was captured to showcase all of the details by Haley Richter Photography.
