Meet Melania

Networking

We’ve known each other since junior high school. We grew up together, we chased boys together and over the years we’ve done many things together, including starting our own businesses almost 3 years ago. Many of you might already know my best friend, but for those of you that don’t, then I introduce to you, Melania, owner of Melania Marta Photography. Not only is Melania an amazing person, she is fabulous photographer. She followed her dream and made it a reality.

For those of you that don’t already know Melania, then you can get to know a little about here below.

Please provide a brief introduction of yourself and your company.?
Well, hello there!! Thanks for the opportunity to be featured here!  I’m Melania – owner/photographer at Melania Marta Photography.  (PS. Marta is my middle name.)  I officially started my business in 2010 and have been in love with it ever since.  When I’m shooting/editing I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.  [That and I married a super awesome guy.]

How did you get into the wedding industry?
I became obsessed with wedding photography after I saw a friend of mine’s engagement session on Facebook.  Before then I loved photography – but this type of art took my love to a completely different level.  I would look at these couples and show my husband these images while chanting, “I wanna do this.  I can do this.”  That Christmas he bought me my first DSLR.

What do you love about photographing weddings?
I’ll be real.  EVERYTHING.  I’m a sucker for a real fairytale and honestly – that’s what I’m about.  I’m a fairy tale chaser.  So the getting ready for the ceremony and the ceremony are some of my favorite images.  Then once the couple is married and they’re happy, snuggly, and kissy which makes for wonderfully touching bridal portraits.

Besides weddings, what are you other favorite types of sessions to shoot?
I LOVE maternity.  Those are portraits I always wish I would’ve had done with my girls.  (Mind you – I looked like a house both pregnancies.)  To me, it’s the beginning of that child’s scrapbook.  I also enjoy shooting families.

Can you give future brides a word of advice to keep in mind about their wedding day?
Don’t stress.  The day goes by SO fast.  These days, weddings are far from traditional so make your wedding as much about you two as possible.  Those details you’re meticulously planning will totally pay off.  (And make for amazing photos later!)

What are some of the items on your bucket list?
Ooooooh.  I’m going to assume you mean my photography bucket list – so let’s start with some of those.  🙂  I’d LOVE to shoot an engagement AS it’s happening.  (C’mon fellas!  You’ll get major brownie points.)  I also want to shoot a military homecoming, and someone famous.  🙂  That’d be kinda fun.

On my general bucket list, I’d love to visit Europe and go up in a hot air balloon.  I may not actually stand up and look around because I’d be really scared, but I’d love to say I did it.

Which place would you want to shoot a dream wedding?
Italy/Sicily.  Someone, please, let’s work on this one!!!! 🙂

What is one thing you want your future clients to know about you?
That I’ll love ya for life.  I know, it’s a corny answer but I’ve made SO many wonderful friends in the past two years.  I love hearing from my clients and they’ve made such a huge impact in my life.  I love and cherish each one of them.  They (and my hubs) are the reason you’re reading this interview.  🙂

Please provide your contact information where future clients can connect with you.
Sure you can find me on facebook at: www.facebook.com/melaniamartaphotography or my website: www.melaniamphotography.com or you can tweet to me (I promise, I answer!) @MelaniaMPhotog
