If you’re searching for a wedding venue that can serve as your getting ready location, ceremony venue, reception venue, and an incredible place to capture wedding portraits, let me introduce you to The Logan. This hotel is one of my favorites in Philadelphia. It’s modern and luxurious without ever feeling pretentious, their ballroom can easily be transformed, and their staff is incredible. Not to mention, their rooftop bar, Assembly, can serve as your first look location or even a spot for an after party – the view of some of Philadelphia’s highlights (think: Swann Memorial Fountain, the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, and the Philadelphia Art Museum) is unreal.
Just like Ali and Dan last week, Liz and Mike completely embraced Philadelphia. With The Logan as their ceremony and reception locations, it was such a fitting choice! L+M wanted to incorporate Philadelphia’s skyline into their wedding suite because Liz happened upon one of my past suites with that exact detail. Because we didn’t want to recreate a suite I designed in the past, all three of us agreed that a semi-custom design was the way to go.
I started the semi-custom design knowing L+M wanted to include the skyline, but I opted to switch things up immediately with a rose gold version of the skyline printed onto vellum (a clear layer of paper). The vellum was placed on top of the invitation, and I also added Liz and Mike’s names and their November 18, 2017 wedding date in rose gold foil to the bottom of the vellum piece. I think the vellum added a whole new element of luxury.
A pocket was added on the back of the invitation to turn it into a clutch style. Inside, we placed the inserts, and I also designed a custom map of The Logan and beyond. Maps are a fabulous way to print much needed details, like directions, in a fun way!
From the skyline to the LOVE monument, the rose gold foil to the burgundy details, I fall in love with Liz and Mike’s luxury Philadelphia themed wedding invitation suite more and more every time I see it!
