There’s something so special about traveling. New places allow you to be exposed to new-to-you locales, you’re able to see areas of the U.S. (and other countries!) you may never have visited before, and there’s always so much inspiration to be found. When I’m designing stationery details with a destination flair, I can’t help but want to hop on a plan to experience this meaningful place myself!
Bride Laura’s wedding planning was well underway for her soiree at The Breakers when Gabrielle from La Belle Mariee and Lisa, the bride’s sister, contacted me about creating a bridal shower invitation for her. The moment Gabrielle and Lisa mentioned Laura’s destination wedding plans, I knew a travel inspired bridal shower invitation was in order.
Once I thought of the invitation’s theme – traveling from Miss to Mrs. – I knew I had found the complete inspiration for Laura’s piece. A classic, vintage suitcase became the canvas and shape for the suite, and I have to say the “traveling from Miss to Mrs.” luggage tag tied to the outside is still one of my favorite details to date! I “packed” all of the party’s most important information inside the suitcase because the case itself opened just as a traditional suitcase would. And, I made sure to design a floral pattern that completed the vintage look for the outside of the case. I slipped each suitcase inside a pearl metallic envelope lined with a bright blue metallic liner before I added every them all into the mail.
Gabrielle and Lisa threw Laura’s bridal shower at the fabulous Jasna Polana in Princeton, New Jersey, and I’m sure Laura’s vintage invitation with classic details fit in beautifully at this timeliness country club.
