In the middle of the fall, Kait and Alex celebrated their wedding day during a beautifully classic ceremony and ballroom reception. Guests received their first peek inside the event when they opened K+A’s wedding invitation. I created a triple layer blush pocketfold wedding invitation that included one of my favorite details, a custom venue illustration of the Ballroom at Ellis Preserve, as well as their two-letter monogram. Block and script fonts tied the look together on metallic paper, and I think it’s safe to say guests learned they were in for quite the wedding day experience!
On November 3, 2018, Kait and Alex spent their mornings getting ready for their ceremony. To kick off the celebration, Kait walked down the aisle toward Alex with both of her parents by her side. I loved the sweet emotions the couple’s photographer, Bow Tie Photo + Video, captured as Kait saw her first peek of Alex at the top of the aisle at Saint Colman’s Church in Ardmore. And, I also had the great joy of designing the couple’s programs for guests to reference throughout the ceremony.
Post ceremony, K+A joined together with their bridesmaids and groomsmen to capture photos. The lighting throughout these photos is gorgeous, and it’s clear these two enjoyed some of the best weather of the fall! Post photos, the new Mr. and Mrs. gathered with their guests for cocktail hour at the Ballroom at Ellis Preserve. While they were capturing photos, guests found their seats via a mirrored seating chart (still on of my favorite pieces!), admired Kait and Alex’s table of photos honoring their loved ones, sipped signature cocktails, and determined how to tag their photos. I created the signs for all of these pieces, and it was fantastic to be so involved in adding details to this part of their day!
Inside the reception, tall classic centerpieces filled with roses and hydrangeas adorned tables, and each seat also featured a menu I designed. Once guests were inside the ballroom, Kait and Alex shared their first dance and parent dances. Alex’s dance with his mom was endearing, and I can tell how close Kait is with her mom through the captures of the dance they shared together! And, every dance had a monogram in the backdrop because Kait and Alex transformed their two-letter monogram into a logo with help from a GOBO. Gold sequin linens made the space sparkle even more, but all eyes remained on K+A for the entire night. They looked gorgeous, and it’s clear how thrilled they were to celebrate together and with everyone they love.
Bow Tie Photo + Video, thank you again for sharing these photos with me! Kait and Alex, I think it’s obvious, but I could not have enjoyed sharing in your celebration more than I did. Congratulations again!
