What do you do when you plan a wedding close to Christmas? You embrace the colors of the season! When Jill and Dominic announced they were planning a ceremony at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and reception at Sheraton Society Hill just a few days before Christmas, I wondered if they would want to celebrate the season. And, they did! By incorporating forest green into their otherwise ivory and rose gold suite, they offered the perfect nod to the holiday.
J+D didn’t want to take their holiday theme beyond the colors of their suite, so I focused on luxurious details. The first step to designing a suite that felt luxe was to create a double layer invitation. The main piece of the invitation was printed onto shimmery ivory paper, and that layer was mounted on top of forest green paper to create the stacked look (and welcome the Christmas season!).
Rose gold is one of my favorite colors and details because it feels elegant, current, and modern. When Jill said she loved this shade of gold too, I set out to incorporate it into their suite through digital printing rather than foil stamping. I love the result! The entire invitation was held together with a rose gold glitter bellyband, and I think it truly pulls the look and feel of the suite together beautifully.
