There are plenty of beautiful views to enjoy in Philadelphia, and one of the absolute best isn’t from atop a skyscraper. Instead, it’s from a stunning venue located along the Schuylkill River, steps away from the Philadelphia Museum of Art. In this case, I’m talking about the Water Works. This Cescaphe Weddings locale combines beautiful architecture, multiple spaces for indoor and outdoor weddings, and incredible views of not only the art museum and the river but also of the city skyline and Boat House Row. In a word, the Water Works is stunning. So, it’s not a surprise that it caught the eye of Jessica and Tom.
The couple celebrated their wedding day in October at the Water Works, and I was so honored to create their save-the-date. Knowing that their venue is effortlessly elegant and completely classic led us to keep the same theme in mind while creating their wedding invitations. For this piece, we pivoted away from the bold contrasting black and gold featured throughout their save-the-date. Instead, for their invitation, we went with a color palette of gold foil and ivory with pops of black to offer a more traditional feel.
We started with a triple-layer pocketfold that always makes an exquisite statement. From there, we added gold foil and black digital printing onto ivory metallic cardstock. Then we started layering: the ivory metallic cardstock was placed onto gold mirror cardstock, which was layered one more time onto the ivory metallic pocketfold. And just in case you’re hoping that we did just a little bit more, you’ll be happy to know we added a border skyline as a nod to the city and the save-the-date. Once everything was tucked inside, Jessica and Tom’s two-letter monogram was placed onto a gold mirror bellyband, which completed the entire look.
Whether the fete is inside the ballroom or outside in the tent, each and every wedding at the Water Works is beautiful. I hope Jessica and Tom’s guests loved seeing a peek into the elegance they would experience at the couple’s wedding through their invitation suite. I hope you love seeing it too, thanks to the photos Haley Richter Photography styled and captured.
