The Consultation
The first step in beginning your custom invitations or stationery is a design consultation. This typically takes place a minimum of 6 months before your event date.
April Lynn Designs is based in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and services clients all over the country. If you are in the Philadelphia area, we would be more than happy to schedule an in-person consultation. Otherwise, we can ‘meet’ via Skype, chat on the phone, or chat via email for our initial discussion.
It is said that if you want to create something memorable it must first be noticed. From the colors, to the design, to the paper and printing technique, your choices set the mood for this memorable event. During the initial consultation, it is helpful to be prepared with your color palette, inspirational images, invitation styles you like, and fabric swatches so we can ensure that all items will coordinate nicely with your event. We will also discuss ideas for your event, talk about themes and personal styles, which will allow us to create a custom invitation based upon your unique style. Please be prepared an approximate number of invitations you plan to send. For that cohesive look, we also design ceremony programs, escort cards, seating charts, table numbers, menus, thank you cards, etc. to coordinate with your invitations.
After the initial consultation, we will email you within 2-3 business days with a detailed quote for the invitation styles we discussed.
The Investment
Whether you are hosting a small wedding or a large soiree, there are countless possibilities to accommodate your budget while maintaining elegance and style.
Once we agree on preliminary pricing, a non-refundable deposit of 50% is required to begin the custom design process. Balance is due at proof approval and prior to print production.
The Design Process
Once we have received approval on the proposal and your deposit, the design process begins. During this time we will be in regular contact with you to ensure our initial design concepts showcase your vision of your big day. We will present up to 3 invitation designs for your review. The colors, paper and printing process will be outlined as well. The design process takes approximately 3 weeks, in which digital pdf proofs are provided via email. This is your opportunity to make edits and design changes. Once original proofs are submitted, up to 3 rounds of revisions are offered.
Once the final design is approved, the balance is due prior to printing.
