I’ve been working on a lot of Philadelphia stationery design for styled shoots recently. They’re all so different from each other, scoring quite a few different features. There’s something about holding the physical item in my hands that makes it that much more special! When I got the latest copy of Munaluchi Bride Magazine, I was over the moon. I got to work on this feature with lots of fabulous professionals, including Tiffany Chalk Events, SYPhotography, Lily V. Events and Desserts by Dana.
I met Tiffany last year at the ISSE Philadelphia conference. That’s the thing I love about styled shoots: they’re great for networking, and networking brings more styled shoots my way! This gothic-chic shoot was inspired by the movie Maleficent. Our bride model wore a stunning mermaid-silhouette gown with a black lace overlay. Her “reception dress” was a chic black, strapless number with polkadot netting.
Our tablescapes were nothing short of spectacular. Look at these crazy centerpieces by Lily V. Events! They encapsulate all the drama we were trying to evoke with this shoot, in feathers and orchids and big, fat roses. By comparison, our table settings were pretty simple, but there were still lots of sophisticated details. The chevron-pattern tablecloth was picked out in sparkly sequins. We decorated the tables with simple, clear crystal, floating tea lights, and black pillar candles. The cake was decorated with red roses and wrapped with briars–a reference to Briar Rose from the Sleeping Beauty story.
I created an invitation for this shoot, along with menus and a table number. Each piece was layered on silver glitter and black card stock.
Thank you to all the vendors that participated in this shoot, and thanks again to Munaluchi Magazine for featuring us!
