Evamarie and Matt were married on June 28th, 2014. I was especially proud to be chosen as their Philadelphia wedding invitation designer, because their wedding made use of two premier Philadelphia venues! They had a beautiful ceremony at the Fairmount Water Works, and their reception followed at the Crystal Tea Room.
The ceremony location has particular significance to the city of Philadelphia. The Fairmount Water Works is a National Historic Landmark that was designed in the 1800s. It was one of Philadelphia’s first municipal water delivery systems, and was also among the first ever built in the United States. Today, the Fairmount Water Works serves as a restaurant and lounge, but it still retains the charm it had in its prime, or what the venue calls the Water Works’ “Golden Age”.
As for the Crystal Tea Room, it is steps away from City Hall. It is truly an impressive facility, with a glass atrium featuring a fountain and greenery, and a ballroom with carved columns and crystal chandeliers. It’s an amazing reception space for a couple like Evamarie and Matt, who chose a romantic color scheme for their wedding invitations.
Their wedding colors were blush pink and gold. I layered pink card stock under ivory paper, with an elegant design at the top left and bottom right corners. The top of their invitations featured their names in a beautiful modern script. As a finishing touch, I added crystals to the end of the flourish on their names.
The entire invitation was held together with a gold bellyband with an ivory satin ribbon wrapped around it.
Thanks to Lovestruck by Nicole Marie for these photos! She really captured the essence of Evamarie and Matt’s wedding in the way she staged these photos. Congratulations to Evamarie and Matt–I hope your life together is as full of romance and beauty as your wedding day!
