Colleen and Matt celebrated both their ceremony and reception at Cescaphe Event Group’s Vie on February 23, 2018. The first unique detail about their wedding is the day. Many couples choose to get married on Saturdays, and for great reason – rehearsals and rehearsal dinners can happen on Friday evenings after work, Saturdays feel perhaps more celebratory than Sundays to many, and there is still an additional day in the weekend that can be reserved for any necessary recoup and travel. However, I think Friday weddings are underrated.
Although a rehearsal and following dinner will have to occur on a Thursday, Friday makes a wedding feel as though it’s gone rogue. It’s on an “untraditional” day of the week, and there is still plenty of time left in the weekend (read: all of it) for guests to travel or spend more time with you (think: brunch or activities in your wedding’s city or place) before they have to prep for the week ahead. If you’re currently planning a wedding, don’t overlook Fridays!
Back to their suite – Colleen and Matt were set on including a pocket laser cut in their wedding invitation. And, I, of course, made it happen! The laser details in their suite feel particularly fitting because of Vie’s ties to Italian architecture. Plus, Colleen also mentioned her desire for an elegant suite. The gorgeous burgundy color paired with the classic black block font and lovely burgundy script font offered an immediate elegance upgrade. Plus, it’s impossible for a suite to not feel gorgeously refined when a monogram, complete with the couple’s names and wedding date, greets guests on the front.
If you can’t tell, I thought C+M’s winter wedding invitation was a beautiful representation of their stationery inspiration. I hope you enjoy the photos below, which were styled by Carly is Inspired and captured by Haley Richter Photography.
