Today we’re painting the blog turquoise for Claire and Alex! C+A celebrated their wedding day in the spring on May 19, and I loved working with their turquoise and silver color palette. It was both bright and different for the season, plus I was able to reinvent a Philadelphia themed wedding invitation suite once more for this special pair.
Claire and Alex kicked off their wedding day as they officially became Mr. and Mrs. at First Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia. The exterior of the church is complete with beautiful angles and arched doorways, plus the stone and brickwork keeps the heart of the city’s historical architecture in check. And, that’s all before you walk inside! The interior boasts some of the most beautiful stained glass windows and a completely stunning aisle I’m sure Claire loved walking down.
Once they were an officially married pair, Claire and Alex joined their guests at one of the most iconic museums in the city, The Franklin Institute. The coolest part about hosting your reception at the museum is many of the downstairs exhibits are open for you and your guests to explore. Plus, receptions are often held in the Ben Franklin Memorial, which has incredible domed ceilings, beautiful opportunities for lighting, and a chance to dance with Franklin as your witness!
C+A’s suite featured the Philadelphia skyline in the interior of the suite as well as a nod to the LOVE monument on the exterior monogram. The invitation was a triple layer pocketfold, and two of the highlights were the middle silver metallic layer and the top ivory metallic layer, which featured digital printing. The inserts were also Philly-themed with the Liberty Bell appearing on the RSVP card, another skyline graphic on the Reception card, and the invitation and the inserts were housed in the pocket.
Claire and Alex’s suite was a wonderful way to invite their guests to their Philadelphia wedding, and I think you will agree after you take a look at the images Haley Richter Photography captured and Carly is Inspired styled.
