From the moment I started working with Caitlin’s mom Abby on their wedding invitation design, I could tell these two were full of so much joy. Abby wanted to carefully craft a wedding invitation that would offer their guests a sneak peek into her daughter’s glamorous April 7, 2018 wedding day, and their classic script suite definitely did the trick! Today, I feel completely honored to share more of Caitlin + Jake’s spring wedding day details with you.
C+J each spent their mornings getting ready with their respective bridesmaids and groomsmen at Hotel Monaco. Outside of the photos Cliff Mautner captured where Caitlin and Jake are each laughing, it’s apparent they enjoyed every moment of their pre-wedding celebrations. The photos of Caitlin and her mom just before she slipped into her wedding dress make me think they were sharing a moment of complete awe – I love these two!
During their first look, Caitlin waited for Jake in her wedding dress and veil. I love the role reversal – typically the bride approaches the groom – because she was able to make sure she was prepped and ready (aka: her entire look was flawless!). They captured portraits with their wedding party who looked incredible in classic floor length navy gowns and black tuxedos.
C+J welcomed their family and friends to Philadelphia’s Cescaphe Ballroom for both their ceremony and reception, and the Ballroom has never looked as elegant to me as it did on their wedding day. The spaces overflowed with gorgeous florals, and Caitlin’s walked down the aisle with her parents was beautiful and so sweet. I also love the floral backdrop behind the chuppah!
Guests were welcomed into cocktail hour where they found their escort cards – another piece we designed – while mingling together. They were able to enjoy cocktails, including The Philly Special – a name I love because it honors our Philadelphia Eagles and Nick Foles’ incredible Super Bowl play.
Beautiful white centerpieces of hydrangeas, roses, branches, and more awaited guests at each table. Many of these pieces were also used to line either side of the aisle during the ceremony, and there definitely was not a reason to only use these pieces once! Plus, the couple revealed their incredible floral adorned cake. Please make sure to take a serious look at this cake – it’s perfection!
Guests filled the dance floor to enjoy the live band, and Caitlin and Jake looked like they soaked up every minute of their first dance and every dance thereafter. C+J love concerts, traveling, cooking, and they’ve even lived in Paris. But, something tells me their wedding day may top their list of best experiences ever! I’m so grateful to have been part of such a fabulous day.
