Throughout planning and designing their wedding, Brittany and Matt were always drawn to classic details that would pair effortlessly with their neutral palette. Their save the dates were some of the most aimless I’ve designed, and I knew we would turn to many of the same elements again for the invitations.
B+M celebrated with their families, friends, and wedding party at Glen Foerd Estate over Memorial Day weekend. There are few ways more fitting to describe their wedding venue other than to say it’s simply lovely. The views of the Delaware River are such a sweet and fitting nod to the area, and the architecture of the estate is classic just like Brittany and Matt.
With their style, palette, and venue in mind, I carefully chose to present their wedding invitation by using letterpress to print script and block text onto each main piece in black ink. The fonts were perfect for the pair for their save the date, and I also adore creating continuity among pieces. In order to honor Brittany and Matt’s neutral palette, the invitations featured kraft brown paper mounted onto ivory ecru cotton paper. The inserts followed the same color palette, but they were printed digitally (a great way to mix printing techniques!). The completed look proved again that simple is just as pretty.
