Although I am so fortunate to meet many of my couples in person, I also frequently design wedding invitation suites for destination weddings and for couples who don’t live in the Philadelphia or New Jersey areas. During these times, I am the most amazed by technology and the power it has to connect us in wonderful ways. Although I was equally as enamored with technology while designing Ashley and Rodney’s suite, it was not because they were planning a destination fete. Instead, A+R planned to return to Ashley’s hometown of Philadelphia for their celebration, but they were living in California.
Ashley and Rodney planned their March 18, 2018 wedding day at Cescaphe Event Group’s Tendenza. Their venue was a wonderful choice, and one of Cescaphe’s most popular spaces, because it has an urban feel without losing an ounce of luxury. To celebrate the upscale feel, Ashley mentioned she loved the idea of layering two ivory metallic papers together for the main piece of the invitation suite. I pulled the look together by combining one ivory paper that had a hint of gold shimmer together with another one that had a different shimmer. Between the papers, the scrolls, and the elegant mixture of script and block fonts, we created a suite that felt exactly like A+R’s inspiration. We brought gold into the suite through the bellyband and monogram backing and I love how everything turned out!
