It’s Wedding Wednesday, and I thought I would embrace the soon-to-be-here summer season by sharing a July wedding with you. Last summer, Allison and Sal celebrated their wedding day in Philadelphia and Bensalem on July 22, 2017. Not only did I have the honor of designing their wedding invitation, but I also created their programs and seating chart. Stationery-filled weddings are some of my favorites to share with you!
I created Allison and Sal’s blush and ivory wedding invitation suite. Together with their guests, A+S embraced their wedding palette from the moment their invitations were slipped into the mail. Each piece included the main invitation’s triple layer, which featured a layer of ivory with a layer of gold glitter paper placed on top followed by the top blush floral layer. The florals are my favorite detail of the piece because they’re completely feminine, but the blush color creates a more subtle, luxurious feel. Each piece was printed digitally and joined together in a blush pink envelope.
Allison and Sal began their day by getting ready with their bridesmaids and groomsmen. I always look forward to the photos captured during this portion of the day because the entire wedding party always seems as though they’re filled with excitement as they anticipate the events that will follow. Plus, it never hurts to see the bride’s bouquet and wedding dress unveiled for the first time!
Their ceremony at St. Katherine of Siena followed. Allison walked down the aisle on the arm of her father, and she was greeted at the top by a smiling Sal. Between her dress and her peony and rose bouquet, it’s safe to say Allison looked stunning! Sal looked so genuinely excited – a sight that’s always fabulous to see.
After an afternoon in the city, A+S retreated to Bucks County with their guests for their reception at Pen Ryn Estate. I’ve mentioned it before, but I have to say it again: this venue is such a gem. The location along the Delaware River is beautiful, and I love how many options abound for gorgeous photos outside. Plus, the ballroom is welcoming throughout the year, which means Pen Ryn Estate is a great venue to consider no matter the season.
Allison and Sal took advantage of the outdoor spots to capture photos with their photographer, Pat Robinson Photography, and I’m so happy they did! The combination of the glow cast between the trees and the view of the Delaware River beyond created an incredible ambiance for wedding party photos.
After their session, Allison, Sal, and their wedding party rejoined the couple’s family and friends for an indoor reception. The ballroom was filled with so much joy as A+S shared their first dance, listened to toasts by their closest friends and family, and hopped onto the dance floor for the night with parent dances and a newlywed game happening in between! Plus, can we all agree that any wedding that ends with actual fireworks is incredible? Allison and Sal’s guests convened on the balcony as fireworks lit up the Bucks County sky just after the pair cut their cake. I think it’s safe to say guests are likely still talking about this celebration almost a year later!
Something Blu Weddings and Events, you and your team did a beautiful job planning Allison and Sal’s wedding day. I’m so happy Pat Robinson was on hand to capture every moment!
