I was incredibly fortunate to be a part of Melanie and Pierre’s wedding on August 7th, 2014. The event was organized by Wish Upon A Wedding, a nonprofit organization that provides weddings and vow renewals for couples facing terminal illness and other life-changing circumstances.
Melanie and Pierre met at a party in 2006. In 2008, Pierre was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. They have endured so much together, and it was so amazing to see the strength of their love. Their ceremony took place on the rooftop of the Hotel Monaco, where guests were treated to the stylings of Shaw Strings. They exchanged touching personalized vows, and performed a unity ceremony where they poured red and white sand into a heart-shaped jar. When they were done, they danced together in the aisle!
I created programs, thank you cards, and signage for Melanie and Pierre’s wedding. Their wedding colors were red and black.
Thank you to Ashley Gerrity Photography for these beautiful photos!
I can honestly say that my experience with Wish Upon A Wedding has been one of the most meaningful in my career as a Philadelphia custom wedding stationery designer. It is a fantastic charity. Best of all, anyone can be a part of it! Individuals can help by volunteering their time or their professional services. You can also donate money or a wedding dress, host a fundraiser, or sponsor an event. Contact Wish Upon A Wedding to find out how you can help!
