Treasury of the Sea Styled Shoot – featured on Floridian Weddings + Every Last Detail

Styled Shoot

When Emily Grace Design asked me to create custom wedding stationery for a styled shoot inspired by the ocean’s bounty, I could not have been more happy to accept! The shoot was titled “Treasury of the Sea” and it turned out absolutely stunningly. It was featured on two–yes, two–wedding blogs: Floridian Weddings and Every Last Detail.

The color palette for this shoot was neutral and organic. Our bride model had kind of a bohemian look going on, with a gold headpiece accenting her long, beachy waves. She carried a richly textured bouquet that included succulents and green berries.

I loved the stationery I created for the shoot! The custom wedding invitations and menus had an ocean motif with a sort of ombré watercolor effect. The invitations were tied with twine, and featured one of those calligraphy-like fonts that I love so much.

Another collaborator on this shoot, Emily of E.M. Anderson Photography shared a little bit about our inspiration:

“As a photographer in Florida, I see a lot of beach weddings but rarely do I see one where the ocean itself plays a prominent place in the design, colors and mood.  There is such grace, simplicity and wildness in the ocean, so those are themes that we really drew from for the design. It was very important to me to help inspire brides to have a beach wedding where the sea and all it’s hidden treasures are treated with the respect and admiration they so richly deserve. Emily Grace Design did such a phenomenal job incorporating natural elements for the decor, like using sea grape leaves as escort cards and building the table design around large manzanita ‘driftwood’ pieces.  Our model, Cayla, was stunning in her custom gown and she really looked as if she could have just stepped out from the sea. I hope that this shoot is as inspiring to others as it is to me, and that it reminds us to cherish and protect the beauty of our oceans.”

The menus carried the same look as the invitation with the ombré watercolor style effect.
