Thank you notes are the final piece of your custom wedding stationery that your guests will receive. Make them count! A custom design will make your thank yous feel personalized and special. Here are a few variations that I’ve created for newlyweds:
Use a Photo
A lot of couples choose to wait until their wedding photos are ready before creating their thank you notes. As I explained in my Thank Yous FAQ post a while back, the general guideline is to start sending thank yous at least 6-8 weeks after the wedding. However, if you’re waiting on photos, your guests will understand! They’ll love having a piece of your wedding memories to cherish.
Coordinate Your Stationery
Unless you want photo thank yous, I recommend ordering your thank you notes at the same time as your day-of stationery. That way, we can carry over the fonts and colors.
I created Stephanie and Dave’s Philadelphia wedding invitation suite with a purple Philadelphia skyline, a Liberty Bell on the reply card, and a map including Philly landmarks. There was a Liberty Bell on the reply card, and the map has representations of all the landmarks of Stephanie and Dave’s love. The bellyband even featured a monogrammed version of the LOVE sculpture.
I continued the Philadelphia skyline motif on Stephanie and Dave’s thank you notes. I think they turned out great!
Printed Message
Sometimes, a heartfelt message is all you need. I love how simple these thank yous are, while still being elegant and gracious. As much as I love design, I have to concede that the message is the most important aspect of the thank you note. Speak from the heart, and you can’t go wrong!
