Whenever newly engaged couples ask me to share my favorite catering companies, I’m quick to point them toward Finley Catering. They create delicious recipes (and some of the most expansive hors d’oeuvres offerings for cocktail hours), and everyone on their team is kind, dedicated, and so excited for each wedding on their calendar. Finley Catering also happens to manage a number of the most classic Philadelphia wedding venues, and the Crystal Tea Room is one such spot. When Regina and Alex mentioned they were working with Finley Catering for their soiree at the Crystal Tea Room, I had no doubt they were in for a spectacular day.
With such a fabulous venue, I had a feeling Regina and Alex would want to set the scene for their guests with their wedding invitations—and I wasn’t wrong. When we were looking for inspiration together, Regina mentioned she loved my business cards. So, we borrowed from them and expanded upon many of the elements to create a super unique and luxurious piece.
The main invitation featured a blush cardstock base with black letterpress and rose gold foil. It was then mounted onto ultra-thick black cardstock for a hearty feel, and the details only continued onto the edges which were gold foil beveled. And we didn’t stop there!
The inserts were equally as detailed as the main invitation. The reception card included a Philadelphia skyline and block lettering printed in rose gold foil onto black cardstock. The RSVP card featured black ink letterpressed onto blush cardstock, and the details information was printed in rose gold foil onto black cardstock. The goal was to showcase inserts that alternated in color when they were stacked with the main invitation.
To finish off the look, each piece of the invitation suite was held together with a cream-colored ribbon. Then a blush wax seal was added on top before the suite was placed inside an envelope that had a rose gold foil monogram on the liner. I would like to think we thought of everything!
With so many details, beautifully textured paper, and a bold-yet-classic color palette, I think it’s safe to say Regina and Alex mailed a showstopper of an invitation suite to their guests. And I think you will agree after you take a peek at the photos Haley Richter Photography styled and captured.
