Cara and Andrew were married on August 28, 2015, which was a particularly gorgeous late summer day. The pair knew they wanted to honor the city where they celebrated their love together, so Philadelphia played a prominent role in each and every one of their wedding stationery pieces. I also knew I wanted to incorporate their wedding palette – black, white, and a hint of blush – thoughtfully throughout the design.
To start, I loved creating their save the date. Each piece featured an outline of the city skyline, a blush heart on their wedding date (and a slight nod to the famous LOVE monument!), and a magnet back. I love when stationery is both fun and functional, plus I love envisioning C+A’s guests sneaking peeks at the magnet in their kitchens and counting down the days until their wedding day.
In honor of the future Mr. and Mrs., guests received the wedding invitation. Cara and Andrew’s suite was classic and timeless in black and white. Every invite was printed onto white shimmery paper and held together with a black shimmery bellyband. My favorite details, however, were the ways in which we honored Philadelphia. Hearts, LOVE, and the Liberty Bell were featured on different pieces of the invitation, and they were all in blush pink!
To kick off their wedding day, Cara and Andrew recited their vows in front of their loved ones at Saint Peter Roman Catholic Church in Merchantville, New Jersey. Guests were greeted with classic black and white programs tied together with black ribbon. I have to note how lovely the bridesmaids looked in their blush gowns, and Cara looked effortlessly beautiful too.
Post ceremony, the pair joined their guests at modern Tendenza. The exposed ceilings, mirrors, and overflowing glamour in the space are just a few of the reasons why I’m always drawn to Cescaphe Event Group’s venues. Centerpieces were filled with hydrangea and fabulous pink roses, the white cake also featured flowers, and I love their favors – chocolates imprinted with the Liberty Bell!
I’m so grateful to have been part of Cara and Andrew’s wedding day, and I have another piece to share – their thank you cards. Stay tuned! In the mean time, I hope you fall in love with the pair’s gorgeous wedding day, which was captured by Sharyn Frankel Photography!
