Kristin and Kevin met while attending the University of Miami. Now, they are both actors, and she said, “He’s the kindest person.” While they were planning their wedding, the Avalon Yacht Club stood out immediately because her family has a home in town. Plus, the venue would allow all of their nautical dreams to come true. Although K+K were definitely invested in their wedding’s style, their 10-piece band was most important to them. After all, they were hoping to create a true celebratory atmosphere where guests would walk away at the end of the night saying, “That was FUN.” In order to attend, guests needed to receive an invitation suite — and that’s where I came in!
Just like Kristin and Kevin, I also love the Jersey Shore, and the Avalon Yacht Club is filled with plenty of coastal inspiration. The yacht club is on the Intracoastal Waterway, and that alone is incredible until you step inside the space. The interior offers panoramic views of the water, and there’s a light-filled ballroom for receptions. Plus, there’s an outdoor deck that’s perfect for ceremonies. Needless to say, the space is stunning!
To add to the coastal feel of the Avalon Yacht Club, we chose to weave shades of blue throughout Kristin and Kevin’s invitation suite. We started with their logo (it’s a modern two-letter monogram!) that is designed to look like a beach tag. We placed that onto the front of the pocket fold as well as at the top of the wedding invitation. Then we added an ombre of blue shades to the main invitation layer using letterpress before switching to digital printing on cream-colored cardstock for the inserts. Everything was held together inside the pocket fold with a ribbon, and I have to admit how much I loved this look — it’s modern, playful, and definitely beachy.
If you love coastal style and the Jersey Shore, I think you are also going to love Kristin and Kevin’s invitation suite, which was captured by Haley Richter Photography!
