I always love when couples plan to celebrate their receptions at Cescaphe Ballroom in Philadelphia. Most, if not all, are planning classic soirees with plenty of glamour and elegance thrown in for good measure, and the results are always beautiful. As a result, these fetes are a wonderful time to create a timeless invitation suite to match the overall aesthetic! This time, I designed for Kristin and John and their September 14, 2018 wedding day.
K+R started their day with a ceremony planned at St. Edmond church in Philadelphia before their joyful reception began. They had their hearts set on a burgundy and gold foil palette – a popular combination for this year’s late summer and early fall fetes – and I was happy to incorporate both into their suite.
We opted to use digital printing to make room in their budget to stamp Kristin and John’s names in gold foil onto the main piece of their invitation. To create an element of consistency, we used ivory matte paper for both the inserts and the invitation. In order to allow the main piece to stand out, it was layered first on gold mirror paper and again onto burgundy cardstock. The clutch style created by the pocket on the back of the invitation introduced a hint of modernity and also housed the inserts. Before each invitation was mailed, I placed it inside an ivory envelope complete with burgundy addressing. I think it’s safe to say, the suite combined their palette together beautifully!
