Today, you’re going to catch a glimpse of one of my new favorite wedding color palettes – light blue and gold! I think the combination is so beautiful and classic, and it feels all too appropriate for spring. As a result of the palette and the season, I was delighted to design Kristen and Michael’s wedding invitation suite for their April 27, 2019 wedding day.
K+M started their day during their ceremony at Saint Bridget’s Roman Catholic Church in Philadelphia before joining together with their guests at Finley Catering’s Ballroom at Ellis Preserve in Newtown Square. I especially love their reception venue, so I was thrilled when they wanted to offer a peek into what guests could experience in their envelope liner. We decided to include a custom illustration in the liner of the Ballroom at Ellis Preserve, and I love that it’s one of the first things guests saw when they opened the suite!
Inside, the suite was a triple layer design. We kept Kristen and Michael’s palette in mind throughout their papers. Light blue shimmery paper acted as the bottom layer, gold mirror paper was stacked in the middle, and the details were printed on top onto ivory metallic paper. With so much beauty woven throughout their papers, we chose to digitally print everything using navy colored ink. To offer one extra dose of personalization, we added a two letter monogram to the top of the invitation.
As you can tell, I love the classic and elegant feel of Kristen and Michael’s wedding invitation, and I think you will agree. Thank you, as always, to Haley Richter Photography for capturing the details!
