One of the things that’s synonymous with being from Philadelphia or New Jersey is being able to quickly name your favorite beach and Shore town. These are places many of us countdown to visiting year after year (and sometimes weekend after weekend!). There are so many spots to love, but there’s one in particular that’s special to Kristen and Joe: Long Beach Island.
When Kristen and Joe announced their plans to celebrate in LBI, I already could not wait to learn more. The Pearl Street Pavilion served as their ceremony site, which I love because it’s situated nearly on the sand and steps away from the ocean. I can only imagine how fabulous it was to recite their vows there! Once they were officially married, they wanted to keep the beach vibes going but with one twist: they wanted to welcome their guests to a reception space with a distinct garden feel. So, enter: The Gables Historic Inn and Restaurant. Between the two, Kristen and Joe had what seems like a perfect Long Beach Island mix!
With a ceremony at the beach and a reception at a venue with vintage flair, I wanted to make sure we embraced every style for their digitally printed wedding invitation suite. We largely turned to a palette of ivory, navy, and blush for their suite, particularly their details which featured a faint blush watercolor wash. I also wanted to make sure their main invitation stood out from the rest. To do this, we blind embossed greenery onto the front of the folded piece and wrapped blush lace around the center. Inside, the ivory, navy, and deckled edge trend continued.
To this day, I still love Kristen and Joe’s Long Beach Island wedding invitation suite, and I think Haley Richter Photography captured all of the pieces beautifully.
