Deep shades of color have an effortless way of adding an extra layer of elegance to any suite, especially when they’re paired with flourishes and gold foil stamping. The elegance factor is only increased even more when the couple is celebrating their ceremony at Old St Mary’s Church in Philadelphia and their reception at Finley Catering’s quintessential wedding venue Ballroom at the Ben.
Jennifer and Matt were married on September 8, 2018. Their’s was a popular date for weddings, and I think that’s because the date allowed celebrations to still be considered “late summer” with some of fall’s early flair. Working with Jen and Matt was so much fun. I had previously worked with Matt’s sister, Kim, and J+M reminded me yet again why I love working with families. It’s always such a special experience!
I designed a blush watercolor suite for Kim and her husband JP, but Jen and Matt wanted a distinctly different style to match their wedding. For J+M’s suite, we utilized digital printing techniques for the flourishes, and then turned to gold foil stamping for their names on the main invitation piece. This slight printing technique change allowed Jen and Matt’s names to truly shine! The invitation was layered onto gold mirror paper and layered once more onto burgundy card stock.
The inserts featured digital printing, and the entire suite was bound together using a gold mirror bellyband to match one of the types of layered paper. The couple’s names were placed on the monogram square, and everything was mailed in a burgundy envelope that even included a gold mirror paper envelope liner.
