I had the privilege of creating menus for Katrina of Events by Katrina Gilbert, who arranged an inspiration shoot on the stunning grounds of the Abington Arts Center. The shoot was styled as an elegant backyard barbecue, with food provided by Chef Will of Mia & Me Catering.
For my part, I designed the menus to wrap around the napkins and utensils rather than sit on the plates. I also used a fun geometric pattern in teal and raspberry, playing off the colors that Katrina chose.
Katrina riffed on traditional Independence Day colors in her table setting, starting with navy and incorporating the teal and raspberry to offset the masculinity that navy connotes. She accented wheatgrass centerpieces with calla lilies.
