Whenever I’m designing invitation suites for couples planning weddings in destinations around the globe, particularly when beautiful places with stunning beaches are involved, I always imagine the moment guests receive their invitations. I can only ever imagine feeling so excited to have the opportunity to travel somewhere stunning for a couple you completely adore! That’s exactly how I felt while designing Ashley and Patrick’s destination wedding invitation suite.
When Ashley and I started chatting about her Riviera Maya, Mexico wedding, Ashley mentioned she loved the idea of having a square wedding invitation. Ashley wanted something that looked “rustic chic”. Somewhat elegant, yet simple, so that is what I created for her! I love also how the wording on the main invitation piece is shaped like a heart which wasn’t a request of hers, but we both loved how it turned out! The wording is curved slightly at the top with script fonts and designed to look like the shape of a heart throughout the placement of the block lettering. There’s always an opportunity to create meaning through design and messaging!
With their ceremony and reception planned at Playacar Palace, A+P wanted their suite to feature bright colors. Aqua and coral were the highlighted colors, which provided the perfect hint at what guests could expect to experience – bright colors and beautiful water. Not only was coral included in the text, but the suite was tied together with coral bakers twine.
Ashley and Patrick, I hope all of your guests said yes to your beautiful destination wedding! I have no doubt it was elegant with a dash of rustic style to make every detail completely chic. Congratulations again!
