What is one city you have always wanted to visit for a wedding? For me, it’s New York City. No matter the day or season, the city is always filled with plenty of energy, the best people watching, and something new and different to experience and discover around just about every corner. To me, New York City is magnetic, fabulous, and downright magical. When Arianna announced she and Jared were going to host their wedding in NYC, I could not start working on their wedding invitation suite fast enough!
When we first starting talking about their invitation’s design, A+J announced they were set to wed at an iconic venue, The Loeb Boathouse. The space is located in Central Park overlooking the lake where it’s completely common to view rowboats throughout the day, and the interior of the space is as luxurious and exquisite as the view. Elegant yet modern immediately came to mind, especially when Arianna and Jared mentioned their desired color palette – ivory and black with a dash of gold.
When guests received Arianna and Jared’s invitation suite, they were greeted on the outside by a simple W monogram and the couple’s winter wedding date in February. As they opened the suite, the rest of the details were revealed. The main invitation piece featured an ivory layer mounted onto black card stock, which was layered onto the ivory fold. I loved how the couple’s names and the piece’s border were both in gold foil while the rest of the piece was digitally printed with black ink.
Two of the inserts featured digital printing on ivory paper, but we added interest to the accommodations and directions inserts by including gold foil printed onto black card stock. As a note, can you imagine being encouraged to simply walk into Central Park to attend a wedding? I loved how we worded the directions insert! Because visual directions are always helpful, I also designed a custom map of key wedding locations in New York City. The modern feel was perfect for this pair.
I cannot wait for you to pour over the details from Arianna and Jared’s wedding invitations when you take a peek at the photos Haley Richter Photography captured. To those who got to be guests, I’m jealous! A+J, I loved working on these pieces together. xo
