For some, a destination wedding does not mean traveling thousands of miles. Instead, it looks much more like the most special trip into the city for what may be the best celebration you have ever experienced! Angela and Ian live in Northeast Pennsylvania, but they knew they wanted to escape to Philadelphia for their wedding day. And they made their dream a reality!
I was thrilled when Angela and Ian first contacted me, but I was blown away when I learned Angela would be driving several hours for our initial consultation. As we met and talked through their inspiration, Angela mentioned how much she adored glamorous style – something I can definitely relate to – but she was also quick to express how much she LOVED a Gatsby invitation I previously designed for Amanda and James. You just know when a client has found something they can’t live without, and I knew a Gatsy-inspired suite would be perfect for A+I!
While I was designing, I kept the suite I previously created in mind. However, I knew we needed to make a few modifications to make this suite perfect for Angela and Ian. That’s one of the best parts about semi-custom design – we can always make changes to make the piece unique for you! We swapped out the pocketfold feature and turned to layering instead, but we kept the gold foil printing on the main piece and digital printing on the inserts. It’s safe to say it was absolutely the right decision because guests could see each black and white piece, along with the monogramed gold bellyband, as they pulled the suite out of the envelope. Plus, the layer in between the invitation and the black card stock was gold glitter, which was an extra fitting pop of glam!
The devotion this pair had to their stationery will always be special to me, and I’m thrilled and so honored to share the invitation that invited Angela and Ian’s guests to their September 4, 2016 Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul ceremony and Ballroom at the Ben reception!
