When I designed Erica and Anthony’s custom glitter wedding invitation in 2016, I learned how truly lovely they were. So, when Anthony’s sister, Alyssa, contacted me about designing the invitation that would celebrate the day she married her fiancé (now husband!), Michael, I was thrilled.
Alyssa and Michael celebrated their wedding day at the unparalleled Bucks County wedding venue HollyHedge Estate. The property is tucked away in historic New Hope, and from the moment you drive through their elegant gates, you’re always reminded how seemingly effortlessly the venue mixes elegance and grace with the history of the place where it resides. It’s quite the location for a wedding!
Because Alyssa and Michael were married on October 14, 2017, they were excited about the idea of celebrating the fall. HollyHedge Estate is surrounded by beautiful trees and a plethora of color as the leaves change, so leaves paired with a navy, orange, and ivory palette became the basis of our inspiration.
The suite was a triple layer pocketfold wedding invitation, and I love the way the tree and leaves pop off of the dark navy invitation layer. Beneath this piece, we added a bright orange layer that was mounted onto the navy metallic pocketfold. The entire suite was held together using ivory lace, and two leaves were placed on top of the lace for a fabulous final touch.
Alyssa’s rustic lace bridal shower invitation was a complete surprise to the bride, and I know Alyssa and Michael’s guests were equally as thrilled to be invited to the pair’s fall fete. Designing wedding stationery for families I adore may just top the list of my favorite things about being a stationery designer.
